About the Artist
Kent Niepert has been painting in oils and acrylics for 50 years. His artwork has been shown in two exhibitions in Beijing, China. He has made commissioned portraits for many European dignitaries during his stay in Asia. One of Kent’s most realistic portraits was of the great Hungarian freedom fighter and savior of Jewish souls, Tibor Baranski Sr. that is housed in Buffalo, New York. Some of Kent’s portraits can be found in Denmark, Sicilia, France and Germany.
In addition to painting, Kent has produced one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. In his youth, he was an apprentice wax carver in the famous Los Angeles Jewelry district and made hundreds of pieces. Later, he produced custom wax carvings for Zales, Slavicks, and Arnold’s Fine Jewelry in Pasadena, California.
Style of art:
Kent likes using extremely bright colors in his works and extreme contrasts. Although most of his artwork focuses on realism, he sometimes dabbles in abstracts, surrealism, and fusion art. Many of his paintings incorporate humor or cultural ideas from Asia.
